The LuViva® Advanced Cervical Scan uses biophotonics to scan the entire uterine cervix and distal endocervix for the presence of moderate to high-grade dysplasia. The scanning technology of multimodal hyperspectroscopy (MHS) can penetrate below the tissue surface to detect changes before they may be discovered in conventional testing methods such as cytology or pathology.

The LuViva® Advanced Cervical Scan uses biophotonics to scan the entire uterine cervix and distal endocervix for the presence of moderate to high-grade dysplasia. The scanning technology of multimodal hyperspectroscopy (MHS) can penetrate below the tissue surface to detect changes before they may be discovered in conventional testing methods such as cytology or pathology.

LuViva is intended for use on
women aged 16+

  • as a primary screener when conventional screening tests are not as available
  • who have been referred for additional testing after abnormal cytology and/or positive HPV findings and/or other risk factors prior to colposcopy and biopsy

how it works

Simple screening process with immediate results

LuViva works by combining fluorescence and reflectance spectroscopy to identify chemical and physical changes in cervical cellular tissue. The LuViva Cervical Guide shines a light painlessly onto the cervix for about a minute.

The patient is positioned with legs in stirrups, and a speculum is inserted into the vagina. The Cervical Guide, attached to a handheld unit, is inserted through the speculum into the vagina until it reaches the cervix.

LuViva analyzes the spectral data and displays the results on the touch screen monitor for review right at the point of care.

Once alligned, the scanning takes place. Painless light from the device passes through the CG to the cervix and the device separates the returned light into spectral data to analyze for signs of changes on the cellular level. This process takes 1 minute and 20 seconds the results are displayed on the monitor for review right at the point of care.
